In a new move to ensure consumer awareness, the Direct Selling Association of Singapore (DSAS) in collaboration with Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) have begun a one-year education campaign themed ‘Smart Consumers, Smart Purchase’. As a big believer in consumer rights and consumer protection, QNET participated in the noteworthy campaign and also stepped forward to be one of the sponsors.
The joint educational public forum was held at HDB Toa Payoh Hub on 28th November 2015 and focussed on trying to educate the public, especially the elderly and housewives, on their rights as consumers. DSAS’s Chairperson Dr Dora Hoan gave a stirring opening speech that set the tone for the evening. Mr Linus Ng, Chairperson of CASE Education Committee spoke about the Fair Trading Act, the common unfair practices of errant retailers and the recourses that a consumer can seek. Chairperson of the CaseTrust Advisory Council Mr Jayems Dingra informed the audience about what it means to be accredited by CaseTrust. Mr V Rajasekharan, a representative of the DSAS, who also happens to be QNET’s Head of Legal Affairs, introduced Direct Selling as a concept and an industry and how do differentiate it from other schemes.
The event was interspersed with on stage dance performances and lucky draws. Two lucky winners went home with brand new QNET AirPure Air Purifiers. Through this event, QNET shows its commitment to its Independent Representatives and to making the Direct Selling Industry prosper.
