Underprivileged children were treated to a QNET Football Tournament in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In partnership with Manchester City Football Club and the Dado Charitable Foundation, the QNET Football Tournament was a breath of fresh air for the children who have been in self-isolation for nearly six months.
The tournament went off smoothly and safely, and the children had a blast running through the field, playing their favourite game with their friends. Tair Sarsimbayev, the winner of last year’s competition, spoke to the participants at the end of the tournament. He spoke about his experience as the winner of the QNET-Manchester City Football Club contest in 2019. He won the opportunity to attend the QNET-City Football Language School hosted in Manchester. As one of the chosen few students, his example inspired a lot of aspiring footballers to dream big and conquer new heights.
“Thank you QNET for such opportunity, and for flying me to Manchester to train with the best team. That was an unforgettable trip and experience. Guys, please train and work hard so maybe in the future contests – you will be the one to go to Manchester,” said Tair Sarsimbayev.
This was followed by a motivational talk by the famous sports commentator Pavel Volikov. He spoke about the history of the Manchester City Football Club, and encouraged the young footballers to work hard and never give up.
At the end of the QNET Tournament, two winners from two different age categories, and two teams from low-income families were presented with gift bags that included a shoe bag, a t-shirt and a Manchester City Football Club branded football. The children will also receive a team football kit with Manchester City branding, sent directly to their boarding schools.
The QNET Football Tournament is an ongoing effort from QNET to practice the values of RYTHM in the best way we know how to. Working to change lives in the communities where we are is our passion. Many such tournaments are in the pipeline. Will your city be next? Stay tuned.
