In a heartwarming tale of resilience and community spirit, Associate V Partner Perminderjit Singh, along with his dedicated DreamAchiever Team, embarked on a monumental journey to conquer the 2024 Australia 108 Stair Challenge in Melbourne. They did this to raise funds for Giant Steps Melbourne, an organisation that supports children and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This QNET success story isn’t just about climbing stairs; it’s about overcoming adversity and pushing boundaries while also making a difference.
Finding Passion in Unexpected Places
For AVP Perminder, the journey to the top began in an unexpected setting—the stairwell of his mother’s condominium building in Kuala Lumpur. Stranded in Malaysia during the COVID-19 lockdown for 437 days, he turned to running to stay active and healthy.
What started as a simple exercise routine soon evolved into a passion for stair climbing. With his mother on the 22nd floor, AVP decided to do 5-6 laps daily to stay fit. “I started by climbing 10 floors, then 15, then 22,” recalls AVP Perminder. “It helped me shed 10 kg and alleviate my knee, ankle, and back problems. It became my daily ritual.”
The Challenge of a Lifetime: Australia 108 Stair Challenge
Upon returning to Australia, AVP Perminder discovered the perfect opportunity to blend his love of running with the call to practise RYTHM — the Australia 108 Stair Challenge. This annual fundraising event sees participants race to the top of Melbourne’s Eureka Tower, climbing a total of 108 flights of stairs. It is a brilliant test of endurance, strength, and mental fortitude as climbers push themselves to conquer the tallest residential building in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year, the event draws athletes and fitness enthusiasts worldwide, all eager to tackle the towering skyscraper.
The biggest draw to the Stair Challenge is the opportunity to raise funds for Giant Steps Melbourne, which is doing vital work in the community for children with Autism. Giant Steps uses a transdisciplinary approach to education that combines music, occupational, and speech therapy. Their Adult Autism Services help provide learning and a recreational post-school environment.
Being in QNET allowed AVP Perminder the flexibility of time and mental space to really get into running. With his DreamAchiever Team, he was able to sign up for the challenge and train to not only run but raise money for such a worthy cause. On 28 April 2024, they faced the daunting task of conquering 96 floors and 1700 steps at Australia 108, the tallest tower in the country.
With the help of their never-give-up attitude and goal to make a big difference, AVP Perminder and the DreamAchiever team ascended new heights alongside 637 climbers. The biggest victory, however, was raising a whopping AUD 170,000 for the children of Giant Steps Melbourne.
The QNET Advantage: Fueling Dreams with Quality Products
Throughout their training journey, AVP Perminder and his team relied on a range of QNET products to fuel their bodies and minds. AVP Perminder, in particular, used the Amezcua Chi Pendant to boost energy and the Amezcua Bio Disc for food prep to revitalise his nutrition. He also used the HomePure Nova for pure drinking water and EDG3 Plus for aiding in recovery.
“QNET products were instrumental in my training regimen,” explains AVP Perminder. “They kept me energised, hydrated, and ready to tackle any challenge that came my way.”
But it wasn’t just about the products; it was also about the ethos of QNET – a community that fosters teamwork, family, and holistic well-being. AVP Perminder reflects, “The beauty of QNET! Our Australian teammates joined forces to climb up its tallest building. The leadership, love, and holistic nature of QNET truly shone through as we worked together to ensure EVERYONE reached the top.”
AVP Perminderjit Singh and DreamAchiever’s Testimony to Perseverance and Unity
As AVP Perminder proudly attests, age, fitness level, or injuries were no match for the unwavering determination of the DreamAchiever Team. “Not in a million years would I have imagined running up 1700 steps at age 54,” he exclaims. “All because of QNET… another box has been ticked.”
Their journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, unity, and the unwavering spirit of the human soul. Regardless of the challenges that lie ahead, AVP Perminder and his DreamAchiever Team stand as a shining example of what can be achieved when dreams are fueled by passion, purpose, and unwavering determination.
